Mulita, also spelled Mulitas, is a small area or "barrio" in the town of Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico. It is located on the island of Puerto Rico. In 2010, the population of Mulita was 266 people.
History of Mulita
How Puerto Rico Became Part of the U.S.
Long ago, Puerto Rico was controlled by Spain. After the Spanish–American War in 1898, Spain gave Puerto Rico to the United States. This agreement was part of a document called the Treaty of Paris of 1898. Puerto Rico then became a territory of the United States.

In 1899, the United States government took a count of all the people in Puerto Rico. This count is called a census. During this first census, 752 people were living in the Mulita barrio.
