Munster (French pronunciation: [mœ̃stɛʁ]; German: Münster im Elsass) is a charming town in north-eastern France. It is located in the Haut-Rhin area, part of the Grand Est region. You can find Munster nestled in the beautiful Vosges mountains, in the valley of the Fecht river. It's about 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) west of the city of Colmar.
Munster is famous for its delicious Munster cheese. The town's name comes from a very old abbey or monastery that was built there in the 7th century.
