Murray Bartlett, born on March 20, 1971, is a talented actor from Australia. He became very well known for his role as a luxury resort manager in the first season of the TV show The White Lotus in 2021. For this role, he won a special award called a Primetime Emmy Award.
He also gained more fame for playing Nick De Noia in the TV series Welcome to Chippendales (2022). Another popular role was Frank in an episode of the HBO show The Last of Us (2023). He was nominated for Emmy Awards for both of these roles.
Bartlett has also appeared in other TV series like Looking (2014–2015), Tales of the City (2019), Physical (2021–2023), and the second season of Nine Perfect Strangers (2025).

Early Life and Education
Murray Bartlett was born in Sydney, Australia, on March 20, 1971. When he was four years old, his family moved to Perth. He went to John Curtin College of the Arts in Fremantle, where he finished his drama studies in 1988. After that, he was accepted into the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney, which is a famous acting school.
Acting Career Highlights
Bartlett started his acting career in Australia. He appeared in a TV series called headLand. In 1993, he played a character named Luke Foster in the show Neighbours. In 2000, he moved to the United States.
His first big opportunity in the U.S. came when he was a guest star in the HBO series ... and the City. He also played D.K., who was John Crichton's best friend, in four episodes of the show Farscape. In 2006, he performed alongside Hugh Jackman in the Australian tour of Jackman's popular Broadway show The Boy From Oz.
From 2007 to 2009, Bartlett was a regular cast member on the TV show Guiding Light, where he played Cyrus Foley. He then starred as Dominic "Dom" Basaluzzo in the HBO series Looking from 2014 to 2015. He also returned for the movie that ended the series, Looking: The Movie, in 2016. In 2017, he had a repeating role in the musical drama series Nashville. Bartlett took on the main role of Michael 'Mouse' Tolliver in the new version of Tales of the City.
In 2021, Bartlett starred in The White Lotus as Armond, the manager of a fancy resort. He got this role by sending in an audition video. For his amazing performance, Bartlett won several awards, including the AACTA Awards, Critics' Choice Television Awards, and a Primetime Emmy Award. He was also nominated for awards from the Screen Actors Guild Awards and Independent Spirit Awards.
In 2023, Bartlett appeared in the HBO drama series The Last of Us. He played the character Frank in the episode called "Long, Long Time". When this episode first aired, many people praised it and thought it was one of the best episodes of the show's first season.
Personal Life
Murray Bartlett shared that he is gay early in his career. When asked about this decision in an interview, he said that he always felt he had to be true to himself.
