NBA Inside Stuff is a cool TV show that gives you a behind-the-scenes look at what NBA basketball players do. It also teaches you about staying fit and the basic skills of basketball. The show used to air on NBC and then ABC. Now, you can watch it on NBA TV.
The show has had several hosts over the years. Famous hosts include Ahmad Rashad, Summer Sanders, and former NBA star Grant Hill. Kristen Ledlow also hosted the show.
About the Show
NBA Inside Stuff was a weekly show that looked back at the week's NBA games. It showed the best plays and special moments from the games.
The hosts would also chat with top NBA players. These interviews often happened away from the basketball court. They would talk about things important to the players.
The show first started on October 27, 1990. It ran for many years until January 15, 2006. After a break of seven years, Inside Stuff came back! NBA TV brought it back with new hosts and a fresh look. This new version started on November 2, 2013, and finished in 2016.
Where it Aired
For a long time, NBA Inside Stuff was shown on NBC. It usually aired on Saturday mornings. It was often played between NBC's kids' shows and their afternoon sports programs. The show even changed a bit to meet rules for educational TV.
In 2002, ABC started showing the program. This happened after NBC's contract with the NBA ended. On ABC, it aired at the end of their Saturday morning kids' block, called ABC Kids. It helped connect the kids' shows to the afternoon sports. Sometimes, it would even move to Sundays during college football season.
When the show moved to ABC, fewer people watched it. The host, Ahmad Rashad, thought it was because ABC put the show in a time slot that wasn't right for it. Many of the older viewers who watched it on NBC didn't follow it to ABC. To try and get more viewers, the show moved to Sunday afternoons in 2004. It would play right before ABC's other sports programs.
The last episode of NBA Inside Stuff aired on January 15, 2006. After that, a similar show called NBA Access with Ahmad Rashad took its place on ABC. Reruns of NBA Inside Stuff then started airing on NBA TV.
In 2013, NBA TV announced that NBA Inside Stuff would return. Grant Hill and Kristen Ledlow became the new hosts. Even Shaquille O'Neal sometimes filled in as a host! This new version of the show ran until 2016.
