Nadine Morano (born November 6, 1963, in Nancy) is a French politician. She is a member of The Republicans party. Since 2014, she has been a Member of the European Parliament. Before that, she was a member of the National Assembly and served as a minister in the French government.

Early Life and Background
Nadine Morano was born in Nancy, France, on November 6, 1963. Her father worked as a truck driver. Her mother, Monique Generelli, was a switchboard operator. Her mother's family came from Piedmont, a region in Italy.
Political Career in France
Nadine Morano was a member of the National Assembly from 2002 to 2008. The National Assembly is the main law-making body in France. She represented the area of Meurthe-et-Moselle. While in parliament, she worked on committees dealing with cultural affairs and defense.
Later, she held important roles in the French government. She was a Deputy Minister for Apprenticeship and Vocational Training. She also served as Secretary of State for Family, helping with policies related to families. These roles were part of the government led by François Fillon.
Serving in the European Parliament
In 2014, Nadine Morano was elected as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP). She represented the East France region in the European elections. As an MEP, she works on the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy. This committee deals with topics like new technologies and energy policies. She is also part of the Parliament's group that works with the Pan-African Parliament, which represents countries in Africa.
In 2015, there was a discussion about some comments she made. Because of this, the leader of her party, Nicolas Sarkozy, removed her from the party's list for upcoming elections.
Later that year, Morano wanted to become a candidate for president in the 2017 elections. She later supported François Fillon as her party's candidate. However, she later asked him to stop his campaign because of a political issue. In 2017, she supported Laurent Wauquiez for the party's leadership.
Before the 2022 presidential elections, Morano publicly supported Michel Barnier as the candidate for her party.
In 2023, the chairman of The Republicans party, Éric Ciotti, chose Morano to be in his special team that focuses on different policy areas. She was put in charge of the party's policies on immigration.
She was re-elected as an MEP in the European Parliament election in 2024.
Public Recognition
On November 6, 2007, Nadine Morano was invited to a special dinner at the White House in the United States. This dinner was hosted by U.S. President George W. Bush to honor the French President, Nicolas Sarkozy.
Personal Life
Nadine Morano is divorced. She has two sons and one daughter. Sadly, one of her sons, Grégoire, passed away in July 2024 at the age of 33.
