Nalyappa is a small place, also called a locality, in the Australian state of South Australia. It is found on the west coast of the Yorke Peninsula. This area is right next to the Spencer Gulf. Nalyappa is about 128 kilometers (about 80 miles) north-west of Adelaide. Adelaide is the capital city of South Australia.
What's in a Name?
The name Nalyappa comes from the Narungga people. They are the local Aboriginal people who have lived in this area for a very long time. The name "Nhalyabba" is a Narungga word. The official boundaries for Nalyappa were set in May 1999. This was done to recognize the long-used name of the area.
Nalyappa's Coastline
Nalyappa has a beautiful coastline. It includes a place called Tiparra Bay. The southern tip of this bay is known as Cape Elizabeth. The coastline of Nalyappa is next to the Spencer Gulf.
