Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah (born April 27, 1948 – died December 20, 2020) was a very important person in Kuwait. He was the eldest son of the country's ruler, Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Sheikh Nasser held several key positions in the Kuwaiti government. He was known for his work in government and for supporting arts and culture. Many people thought he might become the next Crown Prince of Kuwait. He also played a big part in Kuwait's "Vision 2035" plan. This plan includes building a huge new city called "Silk City".

Sheikh Nasser's Important Roles
After his father became the ruler of Kuwait in 2006, Sheikh Nasser was given a big job. He became the Head of the Ruler's Court. This role is also known as the Minister of the Amiri Diwan of Kuwait. It means he was in charge of the ruler's official office and staff.
In 2017, he took on even more responsibility. He was appointed as the First Deputy Prime Minister. At the same time, he also became the Minister of Defense. This made him a key leader in Kuwait's government and military.
Supporting Arts and Culture
Sheikh Nasser was very passionate about art and culture. He created a special cultural foundation called Dar al Athar al Islamiyyah. This foundation is based in Kuwait. It was built around a large collection of Islamic art and historical items.
He was also an honorary member of the Board of Trustees. This board helps guide the famous Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. His involvement showed his dedication to preserving and sharing cultural heritage.
His Community Involvement
Sheikh Nasser was involved in many groups and organizations. He helped start and was a member of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society. This group helps people in need, similar to the Red Cross.
He also helped create the Kuwaiti Association for the Protection of Public Funds. This group works to make sure public money is used wisely. He was also a founder of the Kuwait Equestrian Club. This club supports horse riding in Kuwait. He was also the Honorary President of the Kuwaiti Association of Formative Arts.
His Passing
Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah passed away on December 20, 2020. He was 72 years old. He had been dealing with lung problems since 2018. His death was a sad loss for Kuwait.
