Nathalie Boltt, born on July 19, 1973, is a talented actress, director, and writer from South Africa. She first became well-known for her role as Joey Ortlepp in the South African TV drama Isidingo, which she starred in from 2001 to 2004. Many people also know her for playing Penelope Blossom in the popular teen drama series Riverdale on The CW, where she appeared from 2017 to 2023.

About Nathalie Boltt
Her Early Life and School Days
Nathalie grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa. She lived there during a time called apartheid, which was a system of unfair separation. In 1995, she graduated from Rhodes University in Grahamstown. She earned a special degree in Acting and Dance, which helped her start her career.
Her Acting Journey
Nathalie Boltt has appeared in many exciting movies and TV shows. In 2005, she was in The Poseidon Adventure, a TV movie based on a famous story.
A few years later, in 2009, she had a supporting role in the science fiction action film District 9. This movie was filmed in South Africa. She also played a part in a New Zealand TV movie called Bloodlines. For her work in Bloodlines, she was even nominated for an award!
In 2017, Nathalie acted alongside Ethan Hawke in the movie 24 Hours to Live.
Besides acting on screen, Nathalie is also a voice actress. She voiced the character DottyWot in the children's TV series The WotWots, which is from New Zealand.
Becoming a Director
Nathalie Boltt has also started directing films. In November 2024, she began filming her first movie as a director, called Holy Days. This film was shot in New Zealand. It stars famous actresses like Jackie Weaver, Judy Davis, and Miriam Margolyes as three nuns on New Zealand's South Island.
Her Life Outside of Acting
Nathalie moved from South Africa to New Zealand in 2006. She lived in Wellington and raised her son there with her husband, Phil. Later, she moved to Canada and now lives in Vancouver.
