The Taichung Municipal Wen-Hua Senior High School is a well-known high school in Taichung, Taiwan. It opened its doors on July 1, 1989. The Ministry of Education has recognized WHSH as a First Tier High School. This means it is considered one of the best schools in the country.

Where is WHSH Located?
The school is in a great spot in Taichung City. It is very close to the National Museum of Natural Science. You can also find the Taichung City Hall nearby. The Taichung Shuinan Economic and Trade Park is also close. Getting to school is easy because the Wenhua Senior High School Station is right next to it.
Why is WHSH So Well-Known?
Many students who graduate from WHSH continue their education. They often go to top universities. This is because students from WHSH usually get high scores on the College Entrance Examination. Some graduates even choose to study in countries like the United States and Europe.
Wen-Hua Senior High School is famous across Taiwan. It is also one of the Four Provincial Schools (四省中) in the Taichung area. Since 2015, WHSH and four other famous high schools in Taichung have formed a group called the Taichung Big 5.
The school offers amazing courses. These include STEM subjects like science and math. They also have great humanities courses. Plus, they have excellent Dancing courses that meet national standards. The Ya Feng Guoyue (雅風國樂社) Club, which plays Chinese Music, is one of the best high school music groups in Taiwan.
A Look at WHSH History
WHSH is one of the newer schools in Taiwan. It is also the only one of the "Four Schools" that started after World War II.
- WHSH was created in 1989. This was to meet the big need for high school education. Many people were moving to the greater Taichung area at that time. When it first opened, it was called Taiwan Provincial Taichung Wen-Hua Senior High School.
- In 2000, the government made some changes. The school then came under the central government. It was managed by the Ministry of Education. At this time, its name changed to National Wen-Hua Senior High School.
