Navarrevisca is a small town in the south of the province of Ávila, Castile and León, Spain. It is about 48 kilometers from the main city of Ávila. In 2019, about 279 people lived there.

Navarrevisca sits high up, at 1129 meters (about 3,700 feet) above sea level. It is on the northern side of the Sierra de Gredos mountains. The town is part of an area called Alto Alberche. It shares borders with other towns like Serranillos and Mijares.
This mountain town has many natural springs and small rivers. These flow into the Fernandina gorge, which then joins the Alberche river. This meeting point is known as La Junta.

Navarrevisca has a mountain climate. This means it has warm, dry summers and cool winters. It's similar to other mountain areas in the middle of Spain and Portugal. The climate is known as a continental Mediterranean climate.
How Many People Live Here?
The number of people living in Navarrevisca has slowly gone down. The highest population was in the 1940s. In January 2019, the official count was 279 residents. Like other nearby villages, the population grows a lot in summer. Many visitors come, especially in August.

Religious Festivals
Navarrevisca has several important religious celebrations.
- The main ones honor the Virgen de las Angustias on September 15.
- Another popular day is San Antonio on June 13.
- On January 20, the town celebrates San Sebastian day. He is the patron saint of Navarrevisca.
The village also holds two events about farming.
- There is a livestock fair on the first Saturday of October.
- A farmer's fair takes place at the start of September.
Old Traditions
One special tradition is called La moragá. This happens on All Saints' eve. The word moragá means roasting food outdoors over a fire. Villagers gather around bonfires to share roasted chestnuts and lemonade. This tradition is also found in other Gredos villages. It might be very old, possibly from the Middle Ages or even Celtic times. It connects to the end of the chestnut harvest. People honored their dead during the day. Then, they met at dusk to share food and roasted chestnuts.
Before Easter, the town celebrates "conscripts' day." This tradition includes something called the niñato. The niñato is a straw dummy placed on top of a tall pole. This pole is set up in the town square. This tradition remembers young men leaving for mandatory military service. It also has links to May Day and the burning of Judas figures.
Around the last weekend of August, the town center hosts an artisan market. Local people and sellers take part. Visitors can buy handmade items. They can also watch people make things. This includes candle making, perfume making, and weaving wicker baskets.
Exploring the Area: Tourism
A group of volunteers called the Altruists are working to restore old hiking trails. They are building and fixing bridges, shelters, and fountains. Their goal is to bring back the history of these paths. They want to share the names of places, springs, and hills with everyone.
