Early Life and Activism
Nepal Nag was born on September 19, 1909, in Tejgaon, which is in Dhaka. At that time, Dhaka was part of British India. His father's name was Suresh Chandra Nag. When he was just 14 years old, in 1923, he joined a group called 'Srisangha'. This group was led by Leela Nag, another important activist.
Joining the Communist Party
Nepal Nag was arrested by the police on April 21, 1932. While he was in Deuli prison, he learned about new ideas. He met a revolutionary poet named Rebati Varman. Rebati Varman taught him about communist ideas. These ideas are about creating a society where everyone is equal and shares resources. After he was released from prison, Nepal Nag decided to join the Communist Party of India.
Important Meetings and Later Life
Nepal Nag became a very important member of the Communist Party. In 1970, he traveled to Moscow to represent the Communist Party from East Pakistan. He attended a big meeting called the World Communist Conference. The next year, in 1971, he again represented the Communist Party of East Pakistan. This time, he went to the 22nd Congress of the Communist Party of Russia. These meetings were important for discussing political ideas and plans.
Nepal Nag passed away on October 4, 1978, in Kolkata, India. He was 69 years old.
