Nesma Alaa Eldin Ali Mahgoub (Arabic: نسمة علاء الدين علي محجوب; born September 26, 1989) is a talented Egyptian singer and actress. She became well-known after winning the 8th season of the TV show Star Academy - MENA in 2011. Nesma is famous for her powerful voice and her ability to sing in many different styles.

Nesma's Musical Journey
Nesma Mahgoub has always loved music and performing. She worked hard to develop her skills from a young age.
Early Education and Awards
Nesma finished her high school studies at the German School, DEO, in 2008. While she was in school, Nesma won many awards in a German music competition called "Jugend Musiziert." She won prizes in Egypt, Germany, and other European countries. She was also a special student of the famous Egyptian opera singer, Dr. Neveen Allouba.
University and Musicals
Nesma studied music at AUC. She earned a Bachelor's degree in musical arts in 2013. Her main focus was on singing, and she also studied theater.
During her time at AUC, Nesma played the main character in many musicals. Some of these included:
- Queen Dido in the famous opera Dido & Aeneas by Henry Purcell.
- Lucy England in The Telephone (opera) by Gian Carlo Menotti.
- Eponine in the very popular musical Les Miserables (musical) by Claude-Michel Schönberg.
Her role as Eponine started as her graduation project. It later grew into a big show produced by Dr. Neveen Allouba's musical theater company, Fabrica.
Teaching and Coaching
After graduating, Nesma continued to improve her singing skills in Pop and Rock music. She trained with Sherif Al Dabaa, a special vocal coach. Nesma also enjoys teaching. In 2017, she started teaching at The American University in Cairo. She teaches voice lessons and created a new course to help singers perform better on stage. She also leads the AUC Pop Ensemble, which is called A caPop.

Lending Her Voice to Characters
Nesma is also well-known for dubbing, which means providing the voice for characters in movies and TV shows.
She started by voicing Elsa in the Arabic version of Disney's movie Frozen. She sang "Atliqi Sirraki," which is the Arabic version of the famous song "Let It Go." Because Frozen was so popular, Nesma continued to voice Queen Elsa in all Frozen movies and series by Disney. This includes Frozen II, where she sang "Ezhary," the Arabic version of "Show Yourself."
Nesma has also voiced other characters in both Egyptian and American animated movies. For example, she worked on Ice Age: Collision Course (also known as Ice Age 5).
On the Stage
Performing on stage has been a big part of Nesma's life since she was 10 years old. She feels very comfortable and confident when she is on stage.
After university, she was an active member of Fabrica, a musical theater company. She continued to play Eponine in Fabrica's Arabic version of Les Miserables (musical). She also played the gypsy in their version of El Leila El Kebira by Sayed Mekawy.
In 2015, Nesma played the main role in a new Arabic musical called "Donia Habibty." She performed alongside the actor Kamal Abu Raya. This musical showed off her amazing talents as a singer, actress, and dancer. It was directed by the famous director Galal El Sharkawy.
Nesma on TV
Nesma Mahgoub has recorded many songs for movies, TV series, and commercials. She has also shown her musical talents on the TV show Sahibat Al Saada, hosted by Essad Yunis. On this show, Nesma created and performed special mixes of famous songs from around the world and the Middle East.
