Nesma Alaa Eldin Ali Mahgoub, born on September 26, 1989, is a talented singer and actress from Egypt. She became well-known after winning the 8th season of "Star Academy - MENA" in 2011. This was a big singing competition for young artists in the Middle East and North Africa.

Nesma's Journey in Music and Acting
Early Life and Education
Nesma Mahgoub completed her high school studies, called Abitur, at the German School DEO in 2008. While she was in school, Nesma won many awards in a German music competition called "Jugend Musiziert." She won these prizes in Egypt, Germany, and other European countries.
She was a special student of the famous Egyptian opera singer, Dr. Neveen Allouba. Nesma then studied music at AUC. She earned a Bachelor's degree in musical arts in 2013. Her main focus was on performing, and she also studied theater.
Stage Performances
During her time at AUC, Nesma played the main character in several musicals. She was Queen Dido in the famous opera Dido & Aeneas by Henry Purcell. She also played Lucy England in The Telephone (opera) by Gian Carlo Menotti.
One of her most famous roles was Eponine in the musical Les Miserables (musical) by Claude-Michel Schönberg. This role started as her graduation project. It later became a huge show produced by Dr. Neveen Allouba's company, Fabrica.
After graduating, Nesma kept improving her singing skills in Pop and Rock music. She trained with Sherif Al Dabaa, a special vocal coach. Nesma also loves teaching. In 2017, she started teaching at The American University in Cairo. She teaches voice and created a new course to help singers perform on stage. She also leads the AUC Pop Ensemble, called A caPop.

Voice Acting for Movies
Nesma is also known for her voice acting in animated movies. She became the Arabic voice of Elsa in Disney's Frozen. She sang "Atliqi Sirraki," which is the Arabic version of "Let It Go."
Because Frozen was so popular, Nesma continued to voice Queen Elsa in all related Frozen movies and series by Disney. This included Frozen II, where she sang "Ezhary," the Arabic version of "Show Yourself." Nesma has also voiced other characters in Egyptian and American animated films, like Ice Age: Collision Course.
Theater Performances
Nesma has been performing on stage since she was 10 years old. She feels very confident when she is on stage. After college, she was an active member of the Fabrica company for several years. She continued to play Eponine in Fabrica's Arabic version of Les Miserables (musical). She also played the gypsy in their version of El Leila El Kebira by Sayed Mekawy.
In 2015, Nesma Mahgoub played the main role in a new Arabic musical called "Donia Habibty." She starred alongside the actor Kamal Abu Raya. This musical showed her amazing skills as a singer, actress, and dancer. It was directed by the famous director Galal El Sharkawy.
TV Appearances
Nesma has recorded many songs for movies, TV series, and advertisements. She has also shown her musical talents on the TV show Sahibat Al Saada, hosted by Essad Yunis. On this show, she created and performed mixes of famous international songs and popular songs from the Middle East.
