Nevinnomyssk (Russian: Невинномысск) is a city in Stavropol Krai, Russia. It is located on both banks of the Kuban River. This is where the Kuban River meets the Bolshoy Zelenchuk River. The city is about 54 kilometers (33 miles) south of Stavropol.
Nevinnomyssk is the only "single-industry town" in Stavropol Krai. This means its economy mainly relies on one type of industry. Since December 22, 2017, it has been a special area for advanced social and economic development.
On October 29, 2020, the local government decided to give it the special title of "City of Military Valor." This honor recognizes its important role during wartime.
The city also holds a world record! On December 14, 2019, 4,573 people did a 1-minute plank exercise on a bridge. This was the "Largest number of people simultaneously standing in the plank in the world."

History of Nevinnomyssk
Nevinnomyssk began in 1825 as a stanitsa, which is a type of Cossack village. It was built near a small fort. In 1939, it officially became a city.
During World War II, German forces occupied Nevinnomyssk. This happened from August 1942 until January or February 1943. This occupation was part of a larger military plan.
