New Garden is a small, unincorporated community in Ohio, United States. This means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a city or town. It's located in Hanover Township within Columbiana County. You can find New Garden along Ohio State Route 172, about 9 miles (14 km) west of Lisbon.

A Look Back: New Garden's Story

New Garden was first planned and settled in 1810. A post office opened here in 1830. It helped people send and receive mail for many years. The post office stayed open until 1893.

In 1824, a Quaker missionary named Stephen Grellet visited New Garden. He wrote about his journey in his memoirs. He mentioned feeling sad during his visit.

An important group called the American Anti-Slavery Society had a local branch in New Garden. This group worked to end slavery in the United States. They formed their local group here in 1834.
