New Hackensack is a small place in Dutchess County, New York, United States. It's known as an unincorporated community. This means it's a neighborhood that isn't officially a town or city on its own. Where is New Hackensack?
New Hackensack is located in the western part of Dutchess County. It's in the northeastern section of a larger area called Wappinger. To the southwest, you'll find the Myers Corner CDP. To the west, there's the Hudson Valley Regional Airport. This airport used to be called Dutchess County Airport. Even earlier, in the 1930s and 1940s, it was known as "New Hackensack Field."
New York State Route 376 is a main road that goes through New Hackensack. If you go north on this road, it's about 7 miles (11 km) to Poughkeepsie. If you head southeast, it's about 5 miles (8 km) to Hopewell Junction. The town of Wappingers Falls is also nearby, about 3 miles (5 km) to the southwest.
