Geography
New Tripoli is located in the northwestern part of Lehigh County. It sits on the northern edge of the Lehigh Valley region. You can find it where Madison Street and Pennsylvania Route 143 meet. Pennsylvania Route 309 is also nearby.
PA 143 goes east about 0.5 miles (0.8 km) to PA 309. It also goes southwest about 8 miles (13 km) to Kempton. PA 309 leads southeast about 14 miles (23 km) to the Allentown area. It also goes northwest about 16 miles (26 km) across Blue Mountain to Tamaqua.
Waterways and Land
New Tripoli covers about 0.92 square miles (2.4 square kilometers) of land. Only a tiny part, about 0.16%, is water. School Creek flows through the northern part of the community. This creek eventually joins Ontelaunee Creek.
Water from New Tripoli flows into School Creek, then Ontelaunee Creek, and finally Maiden Creek. These creeks all lead to the Schuylkill River. The Schuylkill River is part of the larger Delaware River watershed.
