How New Zealand Natural Started
New Zealand Natural began in 1984 in Christchurch, New Zealand. It started as a small shop that made special ice cream. This ice cream had no fake colors or flavors.
The company's founder, Rael Polivnick, met the original owner by chance. They were on a plane flying over the Tasman Sea. Rael saw how great the ice cream was. He decided to buy the rights to open a store. In 1985, he opened the first New Zealand Natural shop in Australia. This shop was at Bondi Beach in Sydney.
Awards and Recognition
New Zealand Natural has won several important awards. They received the Export Award at the Westpac New Zealand Franchise Awards. This award celebrates companies that do well selling their products to other countries.
They also won the SIAL D'Or Award in France. This is a big international award for food products. In 2010, their Gold Pure Vanilla ice cream was named the best in its group. This happened at the 14th New Zealand Ice Cream Awards.
