From 2013 to 2016, Nicole Beharie was a main character in the TV show Sleepy Hollow. Later, in 2019, she appeared in the Netflix series Black Mirror. In 2023, she joined the cast of The Morning Show on Apple TV+. Her work on this show earned her a nomination for a Primetime Emmy Award.

Nicole Beharie was born in West Palm Beach, Florida, in the United States. Her father worked for the United States Foreign Service. Because of his job, Nicole lived in many different countries as a child. She grew up in places like the United Kingdom, Jamaica, Nigeria, and Panama.

She went to Orangeburg Wilkinson High School in Orangeburg, South Carolina. In 2003, she graduated from the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts & Humanities. This is a special public high school in Greenville where students live at the school. After high school, Nicole was accepted into the famous Juilliard School. She also received a scholarship to study acting in England.

Nicole Beharie's Acting Career

Nicole Beharie started her movie career in 2008. Her first big role was in the film American Violet. In the same year, she played Sarah Ward in the sports movie The Express: The Ernie Davis Story. She acted alongside Rob Brown in this film. In 2010, Nicole was in the Lifetime movie Sins of the Mother. She played Shay Hunter, a college student trying to fix her relationship with her mother.

In 2011, Nicole showed her singing talent in the movie My Last Day Without You. She sang five original songs in this romantic drama. She also played Piper in the film Apartment 4E. Later, she appeared in the movie Shame, directed by Steve McQueen. A film critic from The Boston Globe praised her acting, calling her "a marvel."

In 2013, Nicole Beharie played Rachel Robinson in the historical baseball movie 42. Rachel Robinson was the wife of the famous baseball player Jackie Robinson. That same year, Nicole began her role as Abbie Mills in the Fox fantasy series Sleepy Hollow. This show was based on the classic story "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow". Nicole left the series in 2016. Her character, Abbie Mills, died in the third season's final episode.
