Nasrin Akter Nipun, known as Nipun, is a popular actress from Bangladesh. She used to be the general secretary of the Bangladesh Film Artistes Association. This group helps local film artists.
Nipun has won the National Film Awards two times. She won Best Actress for her role in Shajghor (2007). She also won Best Supporting Actress for Chander Moto Bou (2009). By 2014, she had acted in 35 movies. Some of her films include Pitar Ason, Rickshawalar Prem, and Praner Shami.
Nipun started her acting career with the movie Pitar Ason. She quickly became a well-known lead actress. Some of her early popular films were Power, Babar Kosom, and Ma Boro Na Bou Boro. She also played important supporting roles in movies like Tiger Number One and Boss Number One.

About Nipun
Early Life and Education
Nipun Akter studied computer science at Moscow State University. After finishing her studies, she moved to Los Angeles. While in Moscow, she also learned Kathak dance.
Starting Her Acting Career
Nipun began her acting journey in 2006. She has also acted in films made in West Bengal, India. One of these films was Porichoi (2013), where she worked with actor Prosenjit Chatterjee.
In 2017, Nipun became an active member of the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation. This organization helps develop the film industry in Bangladesh.
Role in Film Artistes Association
Nipun was chosen as the general secretary of the BFAA on February 5, 2022. There was a disagreement about who should be the general secretary. However, in November 2022, a higher court decided that Nipun should remain in the role.
Nipun's Personal Life
Until 2006, Nipun lived in Los Angeles. She lived there with her husband, Muhammad Sajjad Hosen Opu, and their daughter, Tanisha.
In February 2024, Nipun showed interest in becoming a politician. She bought papers to run for a special seat for women in the Jatiya Sangsad, which is Bangladesh's parliament. This was for the Chittagong Division. However, she did not get the nomination to run.
