Nivaria Tejera facts for kids
Nivaria Tejera (born September 30, 1929 – died January 6, 2016) was a talented Cuban writer. She was known for her beautiful poetry and interesting novels.
Nivaria Tejera won an important award called the Seix Barral Biblioteca Breve prize in 1971. She received it for her novel titled Sonámbulo del sol. Another one of her books, The Ravine (published in 2007), was inspired by her own childhood experiences.
Nivaria was born in Cienfuegos, a city in Cienfuegos Province, Cuba. Her mother was Cuban, and her father was Spanish. She spent her childhood growing up in Tenerife, which is one of the Canary Islands in Spain. Later in her life, she moved to Paris, France, and lived there until she passed away.
Nivaria Tejera died in Paris on January 6, 2016, when she was 86 years old.
