The North Luzon Expressway, often called NLEX, is a very important road in the Philippines. It's a special type of road called a controlled-access highway. This means you can only enter and exit at certain points.

NLEX connects Metro Manila, which is the capital region, to the central parts of Luzon island. Luzon is the biggest island in the Philippines. The expressway is about 84 kilometers long. It starts in Quezon City with a big, cloverleaf-shaped road junction. Here, it meets other major roads like Epifanio de los Santos Avenue.

The road then goes through cities like Caloocan and Valenzuela in Metro Manila. After that, it passes through the provinces of Bulacan and Pampanga in Central Luzon. NLEX finishes in Mabalacat, where it connects to the MacArthur Highway. This allows travelers to continue further north. The expressway has many lanes, usually 4 to 8 lanes in total. This helps a lot of cars and trucks move smoothly.
