Northern Zazaki is a special way of speaking the Zaza language. People who speak it call it Zazakiyê Zımey, Kırmancki, or Zonê Ma, which means "Our Language." It is one of the main dialects of Zazaki.
This dialect is spoken in the eastern parts of Turkey. You can hear it mostly in Tunceli. It is also spoken in parts of Erzincan, Sivas, Erzurum, and some areas in Gümüşhane. More than 140,000 people speak Northern Zazaki today.
Where Northern Zazaki is Spoken
Northern Zazaki is spoken in several provinces in eastern Turkey. The main area where you will find speakers is Tunceli. It is also common in the southern parts of Erzincan and the eastern parts of Sivas. Some people also speak it in Erzurum and Gümüşhane.
