Northwest Columbus is a part of Franklin County, Ohio. About 45,000 people lived here in 2010.
This area is bordered by the Scioto River to the west. The Olentangy River is to the east. State Route 161 is on the north side. Highland Drive and Henderson Road are on the south.
Northwest Columbus includes parts of several communities. These are Perry Township, Sharon Township, the City of Dublin, and the City of Worthington.

History of Northwest Columbus
Northwest Columbus has changed over time. It was first defined by Kenny Road, Dierker Road, Bethel Road, and Old Henderson Road. Later, its borders grew to include the Olentangy River, the Scioto River, State Route 161, and Highland Drive.
In 2007, the boundaries changed again. Now, Northwest Columbus only includes areas within the City of Columbus. This region used to be mostly farmland. Over the years, it has grown into a busy suburban area. Today, you can find many homes, shops, entertainment spots, schools, and hospitals here.

Sharon Township's Past
Sharon Township was once part of a military district in 1796. It was first called Liberty Township. Its name changed to Sharon Township in 1806. The township got its current borders in 1816. Today, it borders Delaware County, Blendon Township, Clinton Township, and Perry Township.
Perry Township's Story
Perry Township was formed in the early 1800s. It was named after Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry. This township is surrounded by the cities of Columbus, Upper Arlington, Dublin, and Worthington.
Northcrest Community
Northcrest is a neighborhood with clear borders. Bethel Road is to the north, and Reed Road is to the east. Woodrun Boulevard is to the west, and West Henderson Road is to the south. Students in Northcrest attend schools from three different districts. These are Columbus City School District, Dublin City School District, and Upper Arlington City School District.
Linworth Area
Linworth is located where State Route 161 and Linworth Road meet. To its west are Brookside Estates and the Ohio State University Airport. To the east is State Route 315. The name Linworth comes from combining parts of "Dublin" and "Worthington."
Olentangy Commons Living
Olentangy Commons is near Olentangy River Road and West Henderson Road. It offers housing for many students from Ohio State University (OSU).
Governor's Square Area
Governor's Square is located near Kenny Road and West Henderson Road. Many of the homes here are lived in by single people.
Getting Around Northwest Columbus
The Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) provides bus services in Northwest Columbus. Newer additions to the area include walking paths and bike lanes. The region is also close to the Olentangy Trail, which is great for outdoor activities.
Important Places and Landmarks
The Ohio State University Airport is located in Northwest Columbus. This airport helps the Central Ohio economy. It brings in over $157 million each year.
