Norwood: A Dark Sky Community
Because Norwood is in a rural area on a place called Wright's Mesa, it has very dark night skies. This is why it was named an "International Dark Sky Community" in 2019 by the International Dark-Sky Association. This special title means Norwood is a great place to see stars and protect the night sky from light pollution.
Norwood is one of only 32 International Dark Sky Communities in the world. Marc Catlin, who represents Norwood in the state government, helped pass a law to support these dark sky areas in Colorado.
