Nottuln is a charming town located in the Coesfeld area of Germany. It is about 20 kilometers (12 miles) west of the larger city of Münster. Nottuln is known for its rich history and beautiful architecture.
The town of Nottuln is made up of four main parts:
- Nottuln (the main town)
- Appelhülsen
- Schapdetten
- Darup
Discovering Nottuln's Past
Nottuln has a long and interesting history. In the year 860, a church was founded here by a person named Liudger. This was also the location of the very first monastery in the region of Westphalia. A monastery is a special place where monks or nuns live and work together.
A big fire happened in Nottuln in 1748. Much of the town was destroyed. However, it was rebuilt with the help of a famous architect named Johann Conrad Schlaun. He helped design many important buildings in the area.

Nottuln is easy to reach! The town is located near the A43 highway. It also has a railway connection, which makes it simple for people to travel to and from Nottuln by train.
