Numidia is a small community in Columbia County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is called a census-designated place (CDP). This means it is a place that the government counts for population, but it is not an official town or city. Numidia is part of Northeastern Pennsylvania. In 2020, about 274 people lived there. It is also part of the larger Bloomsburg-Berwick area.

History of Numidia
Numidia used to have a different name. It was first called "Leestown." In 1832, a hotel was built in the area. A man named Elijah Prince planned the community in 1835. He decided to rename it "New Media." Numidia has had a post office for many years. It was open from 1847 to 1855, and then again from 1864 until today.
Geography and Landscape
Numidia is located in the southern part of Columbia County. It is mostly in the western and central areas of Locust Township. The community covers about 1.06 square miles (2.75 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, with a very small amount of water.
Numidia is about 9 miles south of Bloomsburg. Bloomsburg is the main town in the county. Pennsylvania Route 42 is a major road that goes through Numidia. The land in Numidia has gentle, rolling hills. The center of the community is on a low ridge. You will see many farms here. There are also houses along Pennsylvania Route 42.

In 2020, the population of Numidia was 274 people. Back in 2000, there were 254 people living here. They lived in 104 homes. Many of these homes were married couples living together. About 30.8% of the homes had children under 18. People of all ages live in Numidia. In 2000, about 24.8% of the people were under 18. About 20.9% were 65 or older. The average age was 42 years old.
