Nunningen is a small town, also called a municipality, located in the Thierstein district of Switzerland. It's part of the Solothurn canton, which is like a state or region.

Nunningen covers an area of about 10.34 square kilometers (about 4 square miles). Imagine a square that's roughly 3.2 kilometers (2 miles) on each side – that's about the size of Nunningen!

Almost half of this area, about 41.4%, is used for farming. This means there are lots of fields and pastures. Another big part, about 49.5%, is covered by forests. So, Nunningen is a very green place!

About 8.5% of the land is used for buildings and roads. A tiny bit, 0.1%, is land that can't be used for anything.

Nunningen is in the Thierstein district. It includes the main village of Nunningen. There are also two smaller areas, called hamlets, named Engi mit Mühle and Roderis.
