Himmelried is a small town, also called a municipality, located in the Thierstein district. It's part of the canton of Solothurn in Switzerland.

Himmelried covers an area of about 6 square kilometers (about 2.3 square miles). A big part of this land, almost 60%, is covered by forests. About 30% is used for farming, like growing crops or for pastures where animals graze.

The town is nestled on the southern side of the Homberg mountain. It sits above the beautiful Kaltbrunnen valley. Himmelried includes the main village and smaller areas called hamlets, such as Steffen, Baumgarten, and Schindelboden. You can also find scattered farmhouses around the area.
