Oakhurst is a small community in Oklahoma, a state in the United States. It is called a census-designated place (CDP) because it's an area that the government counts for population, even though it's not officially a city. Oakhurst is located in both Creek County and Tulsa County. In 2020, about 2,262 people lived there. This was a small increase from 2,185 people in 2010.
Where is Oakhurst?
Oakhurst is found in the western part of Tulsa County and the northeastern part of Creek County. You can find its exact spot using these coordinates: 36°4′45″N 96°3′5″W / 36.07917°N 96.05139°W.
It is surrounded by other towns. To the east, you'll find Tulsa. Sand Springs is to the northwest, and Sapulpa is to the south. A major road, Interstate 44, goes through Oakhurst. You can get on or off this highway at exits 221 and 222. Downtown Tulsa is about 7 miles (11 km) northeast of Oakhurst. You can reach it using Interstate 244, which connects to I-44 in Oakhurst.
The area of Oakhurst is about 5.54 square miles (14.34 square kilometers). This entire area is land. Over time, Oakhurst has become a bit smaller as nearby cities have grown. For example, in 2000, its area was about 6.7 square miles (17.4 square kilometers).
