The History of Oberstaufen
Early Beginnings and Changes
Oberstaufen was first mentioned a very long time ago, in the year 868 AD. Back then, it was called Stoufun. It was originally part of a larger region known as Swabia. Later, in 1805, Oberstaufen became part of Bavaria. This happened after an important agreement called the Peace of Pressburg.
Oberstaufen and Google Street View
Oberstaufen holds a special place in history for being the first town in Germany to appear on Google Street View. This happened because the local tourism businesses wanted to show off their beautiful town. They worked together to make sure Oberstaufen was seen by people all over the world online.
