Octa is a small village located in Fayette County, Ohio, in the United States. It sits along Rattlesnake Creek. In 2020, the population of Octa was 58 people.

History of Octa Village
Octa was first known by a different name: Allentown. It was named after a person called Elijah Allen, who helped plan the village. Later, the name was changed to Octa. This new name honors a person named Octa Barnes.
A post office was opened in Octa in 1882. It helped people send and receive mail. However, the post office closed down in 1929.
Geography of Octa
The United States Census Bureau collects information about places. According to them, the village of Octa covers a total area of about 0.28 square miles. All of this area is land, meaning there are no large bodies of water within the village limits.
Parks and Recreation
Octa has two parks for its residents to enjoy.
One of the parks is a long, narrow park that is part of a bike trail. This trail currently ends in Octa. It connects the village to Jamestown. The Fayette County Park District has plans to make the bike trail even longer in the future. They want to extend it from Octa all the way to Washington Court House.
The other park in Octa is a great place for sports and play. It has special fields for playing baseball and softball. There are also swing sets, which are fun for younger kids.

Population in 2010
In 2010, a census was taken to count the people in Octa. There were 59 people living in the village. These people lived in 30 different homes, called households. Out of these, 13 were families.
Most of the people in Octa were White, making up about 84.7% of the population. About 15.3% of the people were African American. A small number, about 1.7%, were of Hispanic or Latino background.
The average age of people in the village was about 45.8 years old. About 20.3% of the residents were under 18 years old. About 23.7% of the people were 65 years old or older. The village had a nearly equal number of males and females. About 49.2% were male, and 50.8% were female.
