Octavia is a small village located in Butler County, Nebraska, in the United States. It is a quiet place with a friendly community. In 2020, about 107 people lived there.

History of Octavia

Octavia was started in 1887. This happened when the Fremont, Elkhorn and Missouri Valley Railroad built its train tracks to this spot. The village was named after Octavia Speltz, who was one of the first people to settle in the area.

A post office opened in Octavia in 1888. It helped people send and receive mail for many years. The post office stayed open until 1996, when it closed down.

Octavia is a very small village. According to the United States Census Bureau, the total area of the village is about 0.16 square miles (0.43 square kilometers). All of this area is land, meaning there are no large lakes or rivers within the village limits.

In 2010, the census counted 127 people living in Octavia. These people lived in 49 different homes, and 33 of these were families. The village had about 794 people per square mile. There were 53 housing units in total.
