Ojiya (小千谷市, Ojiya-shi) is a city located in Niigata Prefecture, Japan. As of July 1, 2019, about 34,704 people lived in the city. They lived in 12,758 households. The city covers an area of about 155.19 square kilometers.

Ojiya is in the middle of Niigata Prefecture in Japan. It is an inland city, meaning it is not on the coast. The famous Shinano River flows right through the city. This area gets a lot of snow during winter.
Ojiya is surrounded by other cities in Niigata Prefecture. These include Nagaoka, Uonuma, and Tokamachi.
