Old Bennington is a small village located in Bennington County, Vermont, United States. It is completely inside the larger town of Bennington. In 2020, the village had a population of 156 people.
This village and the area around it were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. It is known as the Old Bennington Historic District. The district is famous for its old homes that are still in great shape. Many of these homes date back to the American Revolutionary War. Old Bennington is important because it was one of the very first places settled in Vermont. The most important buildings in the district are the Old First Church, built in 1806, and the Bennington Battle Monument.

Old Bennington is found near the middle of the town of Bennington. It sits on a hill that looks over downtown Bennington, which is to the east. Vermont Route 9 goes through the village. This road leads east into downtown Bennington and west towards the New York state border.
The United States Census Bureau says that the village covers an area of about 0.95 square kilometers (0.37 square miles). All of this area is land.

Old Bennington has seen its population change over the years. In 1900, there were 215 people living here. The population went down to 42 in 1910, but then grew again. By 1980, it reached 353 people. In 2020, the population was 156.
In 2000, there were 232 people living in the village. About 23.3% of the people were under 18 years old. Around 25% of the population was 65 years old or older. The average age in the village was 48 years.
