Oldenburg is a small town in Franklin County, Indiana, United States. It is located in Ray Township. In 2020, about 647 people lived there. Oldenburg is often called the "Village of Spires" because of its many churches and religious schools.

History of Oldenburg
Oldenburg was started in 1837 by a group of settlers from Germany. They named the town after a city called Oldenburg in Germany. The town officially became a town in 1881.
A very important event happened in 1851. A woman named Mother Theresa Hackelmeier founded the Sisters of St. Francis of Oldenburg. This group of sisters went on to open many schools across the Midwest region of the United States.
The Oldenburg Historic District is a special area in the town. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. This means it's an important place that helps tell the story of the town's past.
