What the Show is About
The show Olivia takes place in a world where everyone is a pig! It follows the main character, Olivia, and her family. Each episode shows Olivia dealing with everyday situations in her own special way. She often has big dreams, like wanting to be an artist or her mom's assistant. In the first season, Olivia also shares her "Rules of Life" which are like little life lessons.
Meet the Characters
The show features a lively cast of characters, mostly Olivia's family and friends.
Olivia and Her Family
- Olivia (voiced by Emily Gray) is the main character. She's a young pig with a huge imagination. Olivia loves to pretend she's a pop star or a superhero. She teaches kids important things like sharing, using their imagination, being active, and believing in themselves. She is in first grade.
- Ian (voiced by Michael Van Citters) is Olivia's younger brother. He looks up to Olivia and likes to join her activities. Sometimes he can be a bit annoying, like a typical little brother. Ian loves dinosaurs, robots, and baseball.
- William (voiced by Robert Toonitititusa) is Olivia and Ian's baby brother. He mostly sleeps, eats, and cries, like most babies!
- Mum (voiced by Joyce Beverley) is Olivia's mother. She runs her own party-planning business from their home.
- Dad (voiced by Danny Katiana) is Olivia's father. He works as an architect and can sometimes be a bit forgetful. He often gives Olivia and her brothers wise advice.
- Grandma (voiced by Yvonne Craig) is Olivia's grandmother. She's in her seventies but is still very fun and loves adventures.
- Perry and Edwin are Olivia's dog and cat. Perry is full of energy and loves to play. Edwin, the cat, is usually lazy and prefers to sleep.
Olivia's Friends
- Julian (voiced by Jeremy Herzig) is Olivia's best male friend. He is smart and has a good sense of humor, but he's a bit shy. Julian often lets Olivia take the lead in their games. Even if he's not sure about Olivia's ideas at first, he always joins in.
- Francine (voiced by Brianna McCracken in Season 1 and Josie Baker in Season 2) is another one of Olivia's friends. In the first season, she could be a bit snobby and sometimes tried to make Olivia jealous. She was more "girly" than Olivia and didn't like anything messy. In Season 2, Francine becomes much friendlier to Olivia and their classmates.
- Gwendolyn is Francine's yellowish-orange tabby cat. She is very talented and likes Edwin.
School Life
- Mrs. Hoggenmueller (voiced by Susan Balboni) is Olivia's teacher. She is a dedicated and sometimes quirky educator. She loves cats, plays the cowbell, enjoys being outdoors, and is very enthusiastic about learning.
- Julian (voiced by Jeremy Herzig) is also a classmate, as mentioned above.
- Francine (voiced by Brianna McCracken/Josie Baker) is also a classmate.
Short Segments
Each episode of Olivia includes two short, usually silent, segments. These mini-stories often show funny or sweet moments from Olivia's daily life.
Here are a few examples of these shorts:
- William Eats (And Burps): This short shows baby William getting ready to eat. Everyone gives him little bits of food before his mom brings his applesauce, and he ends up not being hungry, then burps!
- Olivia in the Bathroom: Olivia keeps using her stool to reach the sink and mirror while her dad shaves. She does funny things like brushing her ears.
- Olivia Builds a Tower: Olivia builds a tall tower using different items. Her brothers and pets try to knock it down, but her parents stop them. In the end, Olivia knocks it down herself.
- Olivia's Hidden Talent: Olivia discovers she's good at juggling oranges. But then she realizes her brother Ian is catching them from the stairs above!
- Olivia's Picture: Olivia paints a picture of a pig with a blue background. The short ends with the fridge covered in many copies of the same blue picture, and Olivia says she's "done with her blue period," like the famous artist Pablo Picasso.
