Omar Hawsawi (born on September 27, 1985) is a famous Saudi Arabian former football player. He was a strong defender on the field. He played for big clubs like Al-Nassr and Al-Ittihad. Omar also proudly played for the Saudi Arabia national team. He played 53 games for his country between 2013 and 2019. He even played in the exciting 2018 FIFA World Cup! He also took part in the AFC Asian Cup in 2015 and 2019.

Club Career
Early Days
Omar Hawsawi started his football journey at Al-Shabab as a young player. However, he left the team before he could play for their main squad. After leaving Al-Shabab, Omar joined Al-Washm. He played there for one year. Then, he moved to Al-Shoulla.
Playing for Al-Shoulla
Omar Hawsawi's first game for Al-Shoulla was against Al-Faisaly. He played for Al-Shoulla for about two years. His last match with the team was against Al-Jeel.
Time at Al-Nassr
On October 13, 2010, Omar Hawsawi agreed to join Al-Nassr. He officially joined them in early 2011. His first game for Al-Nassr was on February 24, 2011. They won that game 3-2 against Al-Faisaly.
In the 2013–14 season, Omar played 22 league games. He helped Al-Nassr win the Saudi League title. They also won the Crown Prince Cup that year. On January 15, 2014, Omar signed a new contract with Al-Nassr for four more years.
Al-Nassr won the League again in the 2014–15 season. Omar was a key part of this success. On April 4, 2017, he had a small knee injury. This happened after a match against Al-Hilal. He needed a few days to rest and get better. On January 28, 2018, Omar signed another new contract with Al-Nassr.
In the 2018–19 season, Omar Hawsawi was the team captain. He led Al-Nassr to win their first league title in four years. This was their eighth league title overall, which was a great achievement!
Moving to Al-Ittihad
On October 18, 2020, Omar Hawsawi joined Al-Ittihad. He signed a one-year deal with them. On July 9, 2021, he renewed his contract with Al-Ittihad.
During the 2022–23 season, Omar played 23 games for Al-Ittihad. He helped the team win their first league title since 2009. They also won their first Saudi Super Cup title. On May 31, 2023, Omar signed another one-year extension with Al-Ittihad. On May 3, 2024, Omar Hawsawi announced that he would stop playing football at the end of that season.
International Career
In May 2018, Omar Hawsawi was chosen for the Saudi Arabia squad. This team would play in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. On October 3, 2019, Omar Hawsawi announced on Twitter that he was retiring from playing for the national team. He had played for Saudi Arabia in three big tournaments. These were the AFC Asian Cup in 2015 and 2019, and the 2018 FIFA World Cup. He played 53 games for his country and scored 3 goals.
