Omar Regan was born in Detroit, Michigan, United States. He grew up in Highland Park, Michigan, with his African American parents. When Omar was five years old, his mother, Toya Monet Regan, became a Muslim. She then married Iman Lufman Ayman Abdullahi. Omar was raised as a Muslim.

Omar Regan began his career as a musician. He started writing songs when he was just nine years old. At age 11, he formed a music group called S.O.A (Servants of Allah) with his brother. They performed their first show when Omar was 12.
