Oona Castilla Chaplin (born June 4, 1986) is a talented actress. She has Spanish, Swiss, and British citizenship. You might know her from her roles as Talisa Maegyr in the TV series Game of Thrones. She also played Kitty Trevelyan in The Crimson Field and Zilpha Geary in Taboo.

Early Life and Family Connections
Oona Chaplin was born in Madrid, Spain. Her mother is the English-American actress Geraldine Chaplin. Her father is Patricio Castilla, a cinematographer from Chile. A cinematographer is someone who films movies.
Oona has a half-brother named Shane. He is from her mother's earlier relationship. Oona's grandmother on her father's side, Hilda Valderrama, was a lawyer. She worked to protect human rights for the Mapuche people.
Oona is part of the famous Chaplin family. Her grandfather was the legendary English filmmaker and actor Charlie Chaplin. Her great-grandfather was the Irish-American writer Eugene O'Neill. Oona was named after her maternal grandmother, Oona O'Neill. She was Charlie Chaplin's fourth wife.
Growing Up and Learning
Oona spent her childhood in many different countries. She lived in Spain, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Cuba. Her family traveled often because of her mother's acting career.
From a young age, Oona loved to dance. She learned ballet, salsa, and flamenco.

After Gordonstoun, Oona was accepted into the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). This is a famous acting school in London. She graduated from RADA in 2007.

Since finishing drama school, Oona Chaplin has acted in many films. Most of these have been short films and feature films from Britain and Spain. She has acted alongside her mother in several movies. These include Inconceivable and Anchor and Hope.
Oona has also had important roles in British and American television shows. In 2010, she appeared in ITV's Married Single Other. She played a Brazilian cage dancer. From 2011 to 2012, she was Marnie Madden in the BBC drama The Hour. Marnie was the wife of the main character.
In 2012, she played John Watson's girlfriend in an episode of BBC's Sherlock. She also became well-known for her role as Talisa Maegyr. She appeared in 11 episodes of HBO's popular series Game of Thrones from 2012 to 2013.
