Where Does This Moth Live?
You can find the Orocrambus melitastes moth in different parts of New Zealand. It has been seen in areas like Southland, Otago, and Westland. This moth is quite adaptable. It can live in many places, from high up in the mountains (called the subalpine zone) all the way down to the sea coast.
What Does It Look Like?
The Orocrambus melitastes moth is fairly small. When its wings are spread out, its wingspan is usually between 17 and 22 millimeters. That's about the size of a small coin! The male and female moths look a bit different, as you can see in the pictures.
