Osasumwen Osaghae Jr. (born July 29, 1998) is an American basketball player. He is known for playing as a power forward. Osaghae played college basketball for the FIU Panthers. He last played professionally for Spirou in the BNXT League.

Growing Up and Starting Basketball

Osasumwen Osaghae Jr. was born in Miami, Florida. His parents, Osasumwen Sr. and Martina, had moved from Nigeria just 20 days before he was born. In a Nigerian language, his name means "God leads me."

When he was younger, Osaghae mostly played soccer. However, because he was very tall, he switched to basketball at age 16. This happened after he went to a basketball camp led by Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra. By his freshman year of high school, Osaghae was already 6 feet 4 inches tall.

He played basketball for Miami Southridge High School. His coach was John Herron. During high school, Osaghae worked hard to improve his eating habits and fitness. As a junior, he briefly left the team but returned for his senior year.

Playing in College

After high school, Osaghae joined the basketball team at Florida International University (FIU). He started as a "walk-on," meaning he joined the team without a scholarship at first. He studied business management at FIU.

In his first year, he played in only three games. During his second year, he played more, averaging 3.3 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. He also blocked 1.2 shots per game.

Before his third year, Osaghae earned a full scholarship to play for FIU. He had thought about leaving the team, but he decided to stay. That year, he averaged 8.3 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. He also led his league with 3.1 blocks per game. He was named to the Conference USA All-Defensive Team. His 96 blocks that season were the second-highest ever for an FIU player.

In his senior year, Osaghae had an amazing season. He averaged 13 points and 8.1 rebounds per game. He also led all of NCAA Division I with 3.7 blocks per game. By the end of his college career, he became FIU's all-time leader in blocked shots. He was also named second-team All-Conference USA and the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year.

Playing Professionally

After college, Osaghae began his professional basketball career.
