Ovie Phillip Mughelli, born on June 10, 1980, is a former American football player. He played as a fullback for two teams in the National Football League (NFL): the Baltimore Ravens and the Atlanta Falcons. Before joining the NFL, Ovie played college football for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. The Ravens picked him in the fourth round of the 2003 NFL draft.

Football Achievements in High School
In high school football, Ovie was amazing. He ran for over 4,500 yards and scored 69 touchdowns during his time there. In his senior year alone, he rushed for 2,167 yards and 29 touchdowns. He was named the team's Most Valuable Player (MVP) for three years. He was also chosen for the All-Conference team three times. As a senior, he was named the State Player of the Year in his division. He also helped his team win a state title in 1996.
College Football Career
Ovie Mughelli attended Wake Forest University. He played for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons football team. As a fullback in college, Ovie was a top player. He was chosen for the first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).

Professional Football Career

Playing for the Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens picked Ovie Mughelli in the 2003 NFL draft. He was the 134th player chosen overall. He was the second fullback ever picked by the Ravens. He was also the first player from Wake Forest University to be drafted by the team.
In the 2006 season, Ovie scored his first NFL touchdown. This was a big moment in his career. He also earned his first All-Pro honor that year.
Playing for the Atlanta Falcons
In 2007, Ovie Mughelli joined the Atlanta Falcons. He signed a large contract to help block for running backs like Warrick Dunn and Jerious Norwood. His contract was for six years and $18 million. It included a $5 million signing bonus. At that time, it was the biggest contract ever given to an NFL fullback.
In 2010, Ovie was recognized again as an All-Pro player. This was his second All-Pro selection. He was also chosen for his first ever Pro Bowl game. He scored his fourth receiving touchdown during this season. The Falcons released him from the team on May 8, 2012.
Short Time with the St. Louis Rams
Ovie Mughelli signed a contract with the St. Louis Rams on July 28, 2012. However, he was released by the team on August 31, 2012.

After his football career, Ovie Mughelli started working in sports media. In 2012, he became a host at WZGC "92.9 the Game," a sports radio station in Atlanta. In 2014, he joined 120 Sports, an online sports network, as a host. This network launched on June 25, 2014.
