Paimio (pronounced like PAI-mee-oh) is a town and a special local area called a municipality in Finland. It's also known as Pemar in Swedish.

Paimio is located in the western part of Finland. It is part of the Southwest Finland region. About 11,236 people live here. The town covers an area of about 242.26 square kilometres (93.54 sq mi). A small part of this area, 3.89 km2 (1.50 sq mi), is water. This means there are about 47.11 inhabitants per square kilometre (122.0/sq mi) people living in each square kilometer. Everyone in Paimio speaks Finnish as their main language.

The main part of Paimio is called Vista. It's divided into two areas by a church hill: Upper Vista (Ylä-Vista) and Lower Vista (Ala-Vista).

Paimio is most famous for the Paimio Sanatorium. This building is now part of the Turku University Hospital. It was built in 1932. A famous architect named Alvar Aalto designed it. Originally, it was a special hospital for people with tuberculosis.
