Paisley is a small community in Lake County, Florida, United States. It's known as a census-designated place (CDP), which means it's an area identified by the government for statistics, but it's not officially a city or town. In 2020, about 980 people lived there. Paisley is part of the larger Orlando area.

This community is very close to Boy Scout Camp La-No-Che. This camp is located on the north side of Lake Norris. Paisley also hosts the Toronto Argonauts' pre-season training. This is a Canadian football team that comes to Paisley to practice.

History of Paisley

A post office opened in Paisley in 1886. The community got its name from a town called Paisley in Scotland. Before it was called Paisley, the area had other names like Acron and Lightwood.

On February 2, 2007, a tornado touched down in Paisley. It caused a lot of damage to the community.

Where is Paisley? (Geography)

Paisley is located in the northern part of Lake County, Florida. Before Lake County was created in 1887, Paisley was part of Orange County. The CDP of Paisley includes smaller areas like Johnsons Corner and Blue Lakes Ridge.

Paisley is right on the southern edge of the Ocala National Forest. It is about 17 miles (27 km) northeast of Eustis. It is also about 16 miles (26 km) west of DeLand.

The main roads that go through Paisley are Lake County Road 42 and Maggie Jones Road.

The area of Paisley covers about 3.36 square miles (8.7 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 3.13 square miles (8.1 square kilometers), is land. The rest, about 0.23 square miles (0.6 square kilometers), is water. There are at least seven small lakes with names in Paisley, plus many more unnamed ones.
