Panah Huseyn (born October 28, 1957) is an important political figure from Azerbaijan. He is also known as Panah Huseynli. He served as the first Secretary of State and later as the fifth Prime Minister of Azerbaijan. A Prime Minister is the head of the government in many countries, helping to lead the country and make important decisions.
Early Life and Education
Panah Huseyn was born in a village called Garagashli, located in the Sabirabad region of Azerbaijan. He studied History at the Azerbaijan State University. After finishing his studies, he worked as a teacher in a secondary school in the Sabirabad district from 1980 to 1983. He also worked as a researcher at a History Museum. Later, from 1997 to 2000, he worked at the Philosophy and Law Institute in Baku, which is part of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.
Political Journey
Panah Huseyn helped start a political group called the Azerbaijan Popular Front. When this group came into power in May 1992, Panah Huseyn was chosen to be the Secretary of State for Azerbaijan. This is a very important role in the government.
In early 1993, he became the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan. However, he served for a short time. He left his position in June 1993 because of political changes in the country. After he left, Heydar Aliyev became the new leader, and another person named Suret Huseynov took over as Prime Minister.
In the parliamentary elections held in 2005, Panah Huseyn was elected as a deputy, representing the Sabirabad district. This means he became a member of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan, which is like the country's parliament. As a deputy, he works on important issues like national security and defense. He also helps build connections between Azerbaijan and other countries, such as France, Iran, Russia, and Turkey, by being part of special working groups.
