Ali Ahmad oghlu Masimli, born on January 3, 1953, is an important politician from Azerbaijan. He has held several high-ranking positions in his country's government. He even served as the acting Prime Minister of Azerbaijan for a short time.
Early Life and Education
Ali Masimli was born in a city called Shaki in Azerbaijan. After finishing high school in 1970, he went to the Azerbaijan State Economic University. He studied economics and graduated in 1975.
After his university studies, he joined a special program to get his PhD at the Economics Institute. This institute was part of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. He also served in the Soviet Army for a year in Kazakhstan. After his military service, he continued his studies in Baku and later in Moscow.
Political Career and Contributions
From 1991 to 1993, Ali Masimli held many important jobs in the government of independent Azerbaijan. He helped guide the country's economic plans. He was in charge of how the government handled money and foreign investments. He also worked as the Minister of Economic Development.
From January 26 to April 28, 1993, Ali Masimli was the acting Prime Minister of Azerbaijan. During this time, he created important plans for the country's economy. These plans included ideas for how Azerbaijan could become economically independent. He also helped start a fund to assist people who had to leave their homes.
Ali Masimli has written many scientific articles, almost 1,200 of them. These articles have been shared in different countries like Germany, Sweden, Russia, and Turkey.
In 2005, Ali Masimli was elected to the National Assembly of Azerbaijan. This is like the parliament or main law-making body of the country. He represented his home district of Shaki. Since 2005, he has been part of an opposition group called YeS, which means "New Policy." He also works on a special committee in the parliament that deals with economic issues.
