Paoli (pronounced pay-OH-lee) is a town located in Paoli Township, Orange County, Indiana. It is the main town, also known as the county seat, of Orange County. In 2010, about 3,677 people lived there.

Discovering Paoli's Past
Paoli was officially started and mapped out in 1816. It was named after Pasquale Paoli Ash. He was the son of Samuel Ashe, who was a governor in North Carolina. The town's post office has been open since 1817.
