History of Paradise Township
Paradise Township was officially started in April 1870. It was created from a part of another area called Traverse Township. This helped organize the land and people living there.

Kingsley Village
The village of Kingsley is the main community inside Paradise Township. Many people in the southern part of the township use the Kingsley ZIP code 49649 for their mail.
Mayfield
Mayfield is an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a city or village. It's located a few miles north of Kingsley.
Summit City
Summit City is another unincorporated community. It's found southeast of Kingsley. This place used to be a train station called "Summit" on the Traverse City Railroad. It even had its own post office for many years, from 1874 to 1955.
Westminster (A Ghost Town)
Westminster is a ghost town. A ghost town is a place that used to be a busy community but is now mostly empty. Westminster was once a train station and had a large lumber mill built in 1883. It's located south of Kingsley.
