Early Life and Family
Paris Jackson was born in Beverly Hills, California. She was named after the city of Paris, France, where she was conceived. Her name was also part of a promise her father made with his sister, La Toya, and their friend Kathy Hilton to name a future daughter Paris.
She is the middle child of her family. She has an older brother, Michael Joseph "Prince" Jackson, Jr., and a younger half-brother, Prince Michael "Bigi" Jackson II. After her parents divorced in 2000, Paris and her siblings were raised by their father.
She grew up at the famous Neverland Ranch. Her father chose actress Elizabeth Taylor and actor Macaulay Culkin to be her and her brother's godparents. To protect their privacy, Paris and her siblings often wore masks when they went out in public with their father.
When her father died on June 25, 2009, Paris and her brothers went to live with their grandmother, Katherine, and their cousin, T.J. Jackson. At her father's televised memorial service, 11-year-old Paris gave a touching speech. She said, "Ever since I was born, Daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine... And I just wanted to say I love him so much."
