Park Gyu-ri (Hangul: 박규리; born on May 21, 1988), also known as Gyuri, is a talented South Korean singer, actress, and radio host. She is a well-known member of the popular K-pop girl group Kara.

About Park Gyuri's Early Life and Career
How Gyuri Started in Entertainment
Park Gyu-ri was born in Seoul, South Korea, on May 21, 1988. She began her journey in entertainment at a young age. Her first TV appearance was in 1995 in a show called Today is a Nice Day. She played a small role as a character's girlfriend.
In 2001, Gyuri also appeared in the drama Ladies of the Palace. She played the younger version of a main character.
Gyuri's Breakthrough with Kara
Gyuri became a member of the four-girl group Kara on March 29, 2007. As the leader, she even helped name the group. The name "Kara" comes from the Greek word chara, which means "joy."
Kara became very successful, even though the group's members changed a few times.
In 2009, Gyuri became a regular guest on the TV show Star Golden Bell.
Gyuri's Radio and Music Projects
On February 4, 2010, Gyuri sang a duet called "Day After" with Hong Kyung-min. It was part of his tenth album. Later that year, on April 21, she became a radio DJ for the MBC show ShimShimTapa. She hosted it with Shindong. Their first show was on May 5, 2010. Gyuri left the show on October 2, 2011, because she had a very busy schedule.
Gyuri's Solo Activities and Growing Popularity
In 2011, Gyuri was the only Kara member who stayed with their company, DSP Media, during a contract issue. The problem was later solved. In February 2011, she was the voice of Kate in the Korean version of the animated movie Alpha and Omega.
On May 7, Gyuri gave a speech about her career at Seo Woon High School in Incheon. On July 13, she hosted the "Music Bank in Tokyo K-Pop Festival." She also joined the cast of the 200 Pounds Beauty Musical on July 15. This musical was shown in Japanese theaters.
In November, Gyuri had some vocal cord issues. But she still kept practicing for the musical. She also hosted the "Seoul-Tokyo Music Festival 2011" on November 9. The musical was performed six times in Korea in December. After the musical's success, Gyuri had vocal cord surgery on February 21, 2012.
In 2012, she co-hosted the 26th Golden Disc Awards in Japan. On February 23, 2013, she hosted the Yang Yang K-Pop Festival. On June 2, Park hosted SGC Super Live 2013 in Tokyo.
In 2014, Gyuri was cast in the movie Two Rooms, Two Nights.
On January 15, 2016, Gyuri's contract with DSP Media ended. However, she said that Kara had not broken up. She mentioned that the members hoped to work together again in the future. She then joined Motion Media to focus more on acting. In the same year, Gyuri was cast in the historical drama Jang Yeong-sil.
In 2018, she was cast in the movie Miyak.
